So what happens when you give 14 refrigerators filled with energy drinks to different artists? The answer is Red Bull curates.
Today, I visited the MMA (Mixed Arts Munich), a former disused power station to see the works of Red Bull Curates. Here renowned German artists and designers alongside emerging artists from different fields, made a refrigerator their own personal work of art. To say the least, I definitely wasn't expecting to see fridges turned into merry-go-rounds or what looked like a religious gravestone. My favourite piece of work was by Benjamin Röder where he simply made the fridge look like it had a bullet shot right through the glass. After the exhibition, all of the art fridges will be dotted in Munich bars and clubs. To which I look forward to finding them.
A friend told me that the location they chose was AMAZING - huge ceilings, perfect for exhibitions. Nice photos!
ReplyDeletehey Rachel! yeah it was a cool location but pretty hard to find! great place for urban based exhibitions. Can't wait to try and look for the fridges in the different bars though :)
